This afternoon in my quiet time I decided to look up every scripture verse about light. That led to verses on grace and mercy, forgiveness and hope. After a few hours flipping back and forth and searching out God's plan for all to receive salvation and for us as Christians to be the lights, I was filled up. I was not necessarily empty before but because of a gift I had received at church I was reminded that we are called to be lights. I wanted to live up to the call. I wanted to learn all that I could about light in the darkness. I read and read and I listened to several versions of This Little Light of Mine. I watched a You Tube video of Michael Smith's "Healing Rain" and read Hebrews 13 verse 2 that talks about entertaining angels remembering Naomi's comment the other night about those who walk in darkness are someone's child or grandchild and I was so burdened. I ached to think of those parents praying for safety and for the Lord to bring home their child, that had all grown up and made choices to live on the street, live the life of a working girl, survive for drugs and the next fix. It breaks my heart for those that live in bondage to drugs, sexual addictions, abuse and unaware or unable to break the chains. I prayed that the Lord would continue to work in me, showing me His children through His eyes and feeling the pain he feels.
A powerful message...
Hebrews 4 from The Message says in verse 12-13 God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God's Word. We can't get away from it—no matter what.
Praise the Lord, God is sure, He is all knowing no one is imperious to His word, we just need to share it. We just need to open our hearts and our eyes to see.. Watch this video as a reminder to "SEE"
